Enjoy one of Alaska’s favorite past times that only a remote destination can provide.  Fly or spin fishing, the beginner or experienced Angler will enjoy this wilderness setting, while fishing for some of the largest salmon this area has to offer.  Fishing begins as early as the end of July and continuing through mid September in the most beautifully landscaped area of Silver Salmon Creek. We offer quality sport fishing for Dolly Varden, Pink Salmon and a strong run of primarily World Class Silver Salmon from August through September waiting for you.

Is there a fish catching limit?
Three fish per person, per day.

Do you have both spin fishing and fly fishing?
Yes. We do have traditional spinning rods available for guests to use and tackle for sale. Many guests enjoy fly fishing, but we request they bring their own gear.

Do you fish from a boat or a stream?
We offer stream fishing; however, we will gladly arrange a Halibut charter from Silver Salmon Creek for an additional $150.00 per person, per trip, based on availability for you.

Do you sell fishing licenses?
Yes, however, to maximize your fishing experience, you may want to purchase your fishing license prior to your arrival at the lodge.

Clam Digging:

This activity is offered when we have a low tide and is a lot of fun if you have never experienced this before.

Even though it can be challenging to dig for clams and time consuming to clean, they are amazing appetizers sautéed with homemade cocktail or lemon/butter sauce and well worth the effort. There is an Alaskan saying…..”when the tide is out the table is set.”  Ages 16 and above need a fishing license for this activity.

Canoeing:

About a half mile behind the lodge is Silver Salmon Lake, which is a very tranquil place to canoe and view a variety of birds, especially the majestic Trumpeter Swans, ducks, along with occasional moose, black and brown bears.  Take in the breathe-taking landscape and wildlife while canoeing the lake.

Hiking:

Hiking along the pristine beaches of Silver Salmon Creek from Johnson River to Red Glacier is approximately a 5 mile stretch. Take in the awe-inspiring views of the mountain range, beautiful flowers, wilderness and wildlife.  Hike at your own pace with your guide as you discover wild Alaska.
