Enjoy one of Alaska’s favorite past times as
early as the end of July and continuing through the later part of
September at Silver Salmon Creek. We have quality sport fishing for
Dolly Varden, Pink Salmon and a strong run of primarily World Class
Silver Salmon from August through September waiting for you.
FAQ’s and answers regarding fishing with us:
Q: Is there a fish catching limit?
A: Our lodge limit is two fish per person, per
day.
Q: Do you have both traditional rod and reel
fishing and fly fishing?
A: Yes. We encourage guests to bring their own
fishing gear and tackle; however, we do have traditional rod and
reels available for guests to use and tackle for sale. Many guests
enjoy fly fishing, but we request they bring their own gear.
Q: Do you fish from a boat or a stream?
A: We offer stream fishing; however, we will
gladly arrange a Halibut charter from Silver Salmon Creek for an
additional $150.00 per person, per trip, based on availability for
you.
Q: Do you sell fishing licenses?
A: Yes, however, to maximize your fishing
experience, you may want to purchase your fishing license prior to
your arrival at the lodge. To buy your fishing license on line:

Note: Age 16 and older must purchase a license for fishing and clam
digging.
Q: Is bait allowed in the creek or streams?
A: No. Artificial lures, spinners and recommended
flies are legal and area specific.
Q: What do we do with the fish we catch?
A: We encourage catch and release fishing,
however, you may bring a cooler to take your fish home or we do
offer filleting and vacuum sealing at $1.00 per lb. We have
freezer(s) to store your fish until your departure. We also have
insulated fish boxes for sale.
Suggested fishing tackle recommendations:
Traditional medium weight rod and reel that holds
12 – 17 lb. line.
Lures: Blue Fox Vibrax (yellow, pink, silver) and
Pixee (pink, orange, green).
Fly Fishing: 7 or 8 (best) weight fly rod, 5 or 6
weight for Dolly Varden, leader material 8 or 12 lb. silvers test
line, 6 – 8 lb. test (Dolly Varden).
A favorite: Maxima Ultragreen.
BB size split slot sinkers.
Flies: (Silver & Red Salmon) purple egg sucking
leeches, showgirls, flash flies, anything purple or flashy.
Dolly Varden: Egg patterns, flesh flies, wooly
burgers, egg sucking leeches.
